I don't have a story to follow this drawing, I'm sorry about that. but I'll break it down so you can understand better

I'll break down later what I love about this one, what makes it so special to me but I'll gush about how much   understood Asma. it's almost mystical. I know Lou and David understand because they were there when I created Asma. they saw her grow throughout the years  into what she is today so of course, they know. But someone I haven't talked that long grasped her. the concept around her, the feelings about her. It's an incredible experience and I couldn't have been happier. Each of her pieces convey a feeling I attach to Asma. in her previous works we had the fighter, the friend, the protector, the goddess in all of her fighting glory, and now we have the peaceful Asma. 

Did you know that flying is the thing she loves the most in the world? up in the sky she feels the safest, and she can connect to her inner-self better. She will either run/jog or fly when she's upset or when she needs to meditate.  She also is the daughter of nature, Gaea being the mother of all living things gave to Asma the ability to commune with nature. As a goddess Doves are very often represented with her so seeing birds here made me squirm and squee I don't know how LeoNeal knew that flying would be the best set for this character if you wanted to show her at peace but she knew and this is what comes from this illustration! 

now breaking this down to you  

>The costume: we need to stop and stare! it's a nice twist to the original design (it's a combi-short instead of a short dress). I love how close to it it is and I really love this outfit on Asma. the colours, the lines, it is harmonious and it just feels right! I have no other words! she made it look so good damn! SHOUTOUT to the boots that are Frans Mensink design can't believe I designed this it just looks way too good  

> Her HAIR: because let me tell you this: Asma just like her wardrobe can change her hair, she can wear it wavy (but straight), she can wear it nappy, she can wear it braided, she can wear it the way she wants to. I am tired of people trying to crap on her because of her hair, please, remove yourself from my face because I really don't care about your opinion. a woman can choose whatever she wants to wear, including her hair! and Asma would just laugh at you if you tried to force your opinion on nappy hair or straight hair on an African/ African-American or just dark skin lady.  back to pleasant things: I love this hair here! the plated braids on the side is a great touch! it reminds me of an faux-mohawk and I just LOVE IT  

> The pose: she's relaxed and gorgeous. She is at peace in the air. SHe is contemplating the future and is in the middle of taking a decision.     I clearly needed to see an Asma who was in her element, where she's the most at peace (not necessarly vulnerable though).  and it means so much to me. I can't thank you enough LeoNeal. you truly captured my heart and splashed it on the canvas
